How Foldery works
Foldery organizes your AI chats across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity — with reusable context and prompts the platforms don't offer across each other.
Folders
Organize your chats into folders and subfolders. Drag to sort them however you like. New chats land in Unsorted automatically as you use each platform, so nothing gets lost — move them into folders when you're ready.
Folder context
This is what makes Foldery different. Give any folder a context — a set of instructions — and every new chat you start from that folder inherits it automatically. The context is injected when the chat opens, across all four platforms.
For example, a folder called "Code review" could carry the context "You are a senior code reviewer for a React + TypeScript project. Be concise and focus on correctness." Every chat you start from it picks that up without you pasting anything.
Context is per-folder and can be different for each one.
Prompts
Prompts are reusable snippets you insert into any chat on demand. Unlike folder context (which is injected automatically when a chat starts), prompts are applied when you choose — mid-conversation, in any chat, on any platform.
They support {{variables}} for fill-in-the-blanks: when you insert a prompt that contains variables, Foldery asks you to fill them in first. You can drag to reorder prompts in the sidebar.
Importing your chats
Chats appear in Unsorted automatically as you use ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity. To bring in existing conversations, click Import in the sidebar and select the platforms you want to import from.
If you're coming from Easy Folders, you can import your folder structure too: click Import, then select Easy Folders in the picker. Foldery will ask you to upload the JSON backup you exported from Easy Folders (Settings → Backup Folders & Bookmarks) and preview what will be imported before applying it. Still deciding? Sync Pro
Sync keeps your folders, prompts, and how your chats are organized in sync across devices. Your chat content never leaves your device. It's end-to-end encrypted with a passphrase only you hold — Foldery's servers never see your data in plain text.
If you lose your passphrase, your synced data is permanently inaccessible. Not even Foldery can recover it. Local data on your device is not affected — only the synced copy requires the passphrase.
