Help & support
Foldery is a small project maintained by one developer. Most questions are answered below. If yours isn't, send an email and you'll get a real reply.
Common questions
I installed Foldery but I don't see the sidebar on ChatGPT/Claude/Gemini.
Chrome doesn't auto-inject extensions into pages that were already open. Refresh the tab, or close and reopen it. New tabs work immediately.
How do I import my folders from Easy Folders?
In Easy Folders, go to Settings → Backup folders & bookmarks → export the JSON file. In Foldery's sidebar, click the menu (⋯) → Import → select that file. Foldery merges the structure with your existing setup.
How does semantic search work?
Foldery generates embeddings (numeric representations of meaning) for every chat, locally in your browser. When you search, it finds chats that match the meaning of your query, not just the keywords. A search for "reducers" can find a chat titled "useReducer vs useState" without exact word match. Semantic search is a Pro feature.
I bought Foldery but Pro isn't active.
After purchase, you receive an email from LemonSqueezy with a license key. Open Foldery's sidebar → menu (⋯) → License → paste the key → Activate. If the email hasn't arrived, check spam, then contact support below.
I lost my sync passphrase.
Foldery's sync is end-to-end encrypted. The passphrase never leaves your devices and isn't recoverable — not even by us. You'll need to set up sync again with a new passphrase. Your local data is intact; only the synced copy is inaccessible.
My folders aren't syncing between two devices.
Both devices must (1) be signed into sync with the same passphrase, (2) be online, and (3) be running the same version of Foldery. Open the sidebar menu (⋯) → Sync to check connection status.
